Disaster Day

The whole plan was set up. Me and Madeline even talked to colleges of the boys that we did not even know, just to figure out what hours they would be home. We really wanted to surprise them on the highest level. So we went to bed early because our truck would leave around 8. A perfect plan! Until everything that could go wrong, went wrong that day. We called it our disaster day:

The disaster day

it all started when we went to bed last night.

1)we couldn’t sleep

2)we woke up at 6.30 and found out the truck could not come until 10.30

3)we found out that madeline was a horse and I was a bever (don’t ask, it’s just the truth)

4)the storyboard we made as a thank you gift for david and bonny would not print in colour

5)max knew we wanted to surprise him and became mad

6)The peanut butter ran out… we really needed that in the morning

7)Madeline kept running into things with her bag at the supermarket

8)we put the bread rolls in the wrong trolley with someone elses water melon

9)The bread rolls wouldn’t scan at the self scan service

10)We sat outside of the supermarket for 2 hours and Andy didn’t pick up the phone. (we did not have the right number of the truck driver)

11)A Drunk weird man bought us chocolate and wanted us to open up his cigarette.

12)Andy texted us that the truck was not coming because of mechanical problems

13)We went to the wrong busstop and had to walk to the other one which took us 20 minutes with our heavy bags

14)On the bus there was a man on drugs and a father who was swearing with his kid in his arm

15)the bus driver dropped us off in the middle of nowhere. not even a busstop

16)I had to talk for six hours to this dude who offered us a lift to Dunedin. The closest we could get to Te Anau that day

17)We thought that the museum was the busstop. And the trainstation, that we thought had wifi, was closed

18)We could not stay at Adam’s house (a friend of Madeline) because his housemates did not want us there

19)All the hostels were fully booked

20)Madeline phoned with Jake and the phone would not want her to call or do anything…

21)We found out that there was one bus to Te Anau that did not leave until 2 and would cost us 91 dollars… Way too much

22)Madeline started to cross the road illegally

23)A man was being a d*ck to madeline without any reason!!!

24)we had to walk 20 minutes in the freezing cold to our hotel that would cost us loads of money into a creepy neighbourhood that was uphill and had no lights in the street

25)We found out that the 87 dollar room that we booked was actually in euro and would cost us 130 dollars

26)Our room was on the top flour and we had to walk up all the stairs with our heavy bags because there was no elevator

27)then we discovered that the wifi did not work in our room

28)We wanted to watch a movie, but the one I had was just about a man walking around naked

29)I went down to ask if somebody had a movie, which this one girl had. she gave me a bunch of movies and they were all just really really really bad

30)I kept losing my Doritos in my hair

31)my laptop died while downloading the movies

32)to put on the heater in the room we had to push the green button, but there was no green button

33)the place we sleep was runned by really weird Asians

34) We did not sleep very well.

So yeah, it was an interesting day... :)
