Now I finally understand Rugby!

After we left Raglan, we needed to drive down to Wellington to watch the sevens. We stopped in New Plymouth and walked a trail around Mount Taranaki (which was pretty impressive). And the next day we drove down. Madeline was based in a hotelroom in Wellington for a while and she invited us to stay with her. It was a little bit sneaky because we weren't paying for the hotel... but we managed! It was nice to spent some time in Wellington, I definitely prefer it over Auckland.

Max set it up to go and watch the wellington sevens. It's a 2 day tournament of rugby games played by a team of seven instead of fifteen. Also the games only last for 14 minutes. So everything goes really fast. There are about 24 games in one day and a bunch of countries playing against each other. But what convinced me to go was the fact that it's a big party as well! Everybody dresses up, there's music playing between the games and everybody just has a standard beer in their hands. Madeline was dressed as a doctor, Max as a german and I was.... a tomato. Don't ask me why, I just wanted to be a tomato and I was a freaking good one! So yeah it was a lot of fun and it made me understand the Rugby rules more.

And then the next day it was time to take the ferry to the south island. It felt like a pretty big step to be honest. I spent almost 4 months in the north island and it was beautiful! But I just knew that the south would be more me. It felt like making a new start, or just part 2 of my journey... Either way, it felt right.
