So we survived the 3 hour ferry and set foot on the south island. We arrived in Picton and drove up to Nelson. Madeline and Casey were there to so we were going to meet up. We stayed on a free overnight parking lot. It was pretty weird because it was just a parking place but it was just all filled up with travellers spreading all they have on the ground and making themselves at home. Me and Max decided to do a big hike on the Abel Tasman. We knew that the weather would be beautiful that weekend, so now was the time! We went to the I-sight to book everything. Normally we just planned on doing a part of the walk and spent one overnight. But because of the good weather, almost every campsite was booked out. So we were kinda forced to do the whole walk in 2,5 days, which was pretty intensive. But we just went for it! And I'm so happy that we did it that way! It's been a beautiful walk but the last part was just stunning and we wouldn't have done it if everything wasn't booked out. At the top of the track, if you walked a little further, you could find a seal colony living around the rocks. And again: praise the lord! Because we were able to be at a 1m distance of 3 baby seals. They were just looking at us and we were looking at them. I think we stood there for more than half an hour. It was just beautiful, pure nature, untouched. I can't say more than that it as a beautiful 3 day hike. I really enjoyed it, even though it was hot and a lot of km and a heavy bag. But I like a little bit of suffering if I can experience such beauty.
