Sniffing up the sea air like never before

So after doing the Abel Tasman track, me and Max decided to split up for a while. He had found a job in Te Anu, which was a 13 hour drive from where we were, and I just wanted to stay here and make my way down slowly. So that evening we went for a nice meal, slept in Steve the last time and said goodbye to each other the next morning. I went back to the hostel life, which was pretty weird but comfortable too. I think the hostel I'm staying in right now is probably the best so far. I've got free breakfast, free soup at 6, free unlimited wifi, swimming pool, sauna, jacuzzi, television, 2 kitchens, a good bed and a perfect chill-out zone. So I felt comfortable enough to book a few nights and have some time to figure out what I wanted to do. Basically I sent a bunch of e-mails to everybody. Fruit picking jobs, jobs in the city, photographers and Wwoofing people. And I didn't get any responds, except for one! His name is Chris and he has a sailboat. At his Wwoofing profile he just said that he goes sailing in Nelson every wednesday for 2.5 hours and that, if you have experience, you can join him. So that's what I did! And it was amazing. We ended up sailing for 4 hours and I didn't left the steering wheel for one second. It felt like home. I watched the sun go down while sailing on two oceans on the other side of the world and I loved it. Thanks Chris!
