I just couldn't leave Raglan

Me, Max and our Steve decided to stay in Raglan for a while. Max wanted to keep on surfing and I just loved the art in town. We were sleeping on a low cost campground and just spent our days reading, surfing, cooking and most of all relaxing. We weren't supposed to stay in Raglan for that long... but we just really wanted to volunteer for this festival that was going on. It was called "Soundsplash" and Mungo's hifi were playing. But the real reason why it was hard to leave, is because we met a bunch of lovely people who we can call good friends now. We got to know Madeline and Casey, and american couple who slept next to us and then a whole crew of Germans. And they were AMAZING. We just chilled out, had some beers, played some games of football and it was the relaxed atmosphere that we needed. Casey and Madeline introduced me to the 'slackline'. It a big flat robe you tie between two trees and then you try to balance on it. I absolutely loved it! They inspired me to buy one myself once I get home. There were just all these little things that made my days so special. I can't even explain. I had a great time and I adore the new friend we made.
Also the festival was amazing! Max did his volunteering work a week in advance and I started at 7.30 am at the first day. I just needed to hand out wristbands to the people with a campground ticked. I did it until 2.30 without any break and I didn't even mind! I couldn't believe that I got a free ticket after chilling out and giving wristbands. The first day the music wasn't that good.. but the food was great! And I just loved hanging around. The second day, we started pre drinking at the campsite. But just before we were about the leave, the rain kicked in and it didn't stop. After a while we just said: "fuck it", got our raincoat and got out. We were all soaked and the rain never stopped, but it was one of the best nights in a while! I was drunk and managed to stay dry and the music was just great! Al the Germans finished their shifts and also Casey and Madeline found a way to get in for free. Even Damien was back in town and joined us. I absolutely loved it! After having such great days with all of our new friends, saying goodbye was pretty hard... But we needed to leave. We had 2 days of the Wellington Sevens Rugby games to go to and a ferry to the south island to catch. We said goodbye, but not for real because we knew we were going to see them again.
