Magical Mount Manganui

We went on a little two day trip, just to escape from Rotorua for a while. The city is called Tauranga and it was only an hour away. We decided to hitchhike and got out of the hostel. The sign 'Tauranga' was made and we were walking to a good road that would lead us directly to where we needed to be. After 2 minutes of leaving the hostel and walking, this woman stopped and asked us where we needed to be. We didn't even put up our sign yet! She was supposed to be in Tauranga as well and took us all the way. She was lovely, but a little bit nuts, but then again nuts in a good way! We had a lot of fun. We told her we wanted to climb Mount Manganui, a little bit outside of Tauranga, so as sweet as she was she dropped us off right at the beginning! To be sure, booking a hostel for the night seemed like the first thing to do. But then I got shocked by the price, 29 dollars for one night in a 16-dorm bedroom... No thanks! While walking around we found this camping ground and thought : Let's ask how much renting a caravan is! It ended up being 70 dollars a night, which was almost as much as the hostel. We said 'fuck it' and got ourselves a caravan! We dropped the bags and went for the hike. It took some effort, but it was so beautiful that even words can't properly explain. You could experience an amazing view on the city and on the ocean. Magical. After a good hike and a proper diner, we came back home to our cozy own caravan. It didn't take us long to know that we made a little mistake. We realised that there were no blankets and no pillows... Damn... The only thing that was last to do was to take the mattress cover to keep us warm, it worked!
