My arrival in auckland wasn’t that great. At the airport I jumped into the ‘skybus’ who supposed to drop me off at my hostel, but didn’t… I was tired and totally lost in this grey city which I didn’t expect to be this grey. Luckily after a few minutes a girl came to me and asked if she could help. I told her that I had no idea where my hostel was and asked if she could look it up. That’s what she did, and afterwards she even offerd to walk me there. From that moment I knew that It’s not possible to be lost in New Zealand. My idea of a hostel was totally wrong. I was expecting a little crappy building with a couple of rooms, but it ended up being a 10 floor appartment. I walked in, hoping people wouldn’t notice how zombie lookalike I was and finally got into my room.I had a lot of mixed feelings. In one way I was heavily excited to arrive in New Zealand, this was the day I’ve been dreaming about for months. Then I also felt enormesly sick and the jetlag had already kicked in. By my surprise these feelings changed in half an hour. I met these crazy lovely amazing people in my room. Two girls from the US, one girl also from Belgium (but from the French part) and one girl from the UK. We ended up spending almost the whole week together and went to beautiful places. I emediatly felt home. This trip could not have started any better.
